Reddie Freddie – red and red and red all over
Reddie Freddie first appearance
First launched as part of a marketing campaign with jeni’s ice cream. Fuzzco created the red freddie and in addition with your order of 8 different flavors you received the limited edition Reddie Freddie. That was the first sight of Reddie Freddie, in a limited run Reddie Freddie already became a sought after version of the vinyl toy. This all happened around February 2015. I don’t know how this toy shipped and was packaged. If someone knows, do get in touch with us!
The amount of Freddies was limited, it didn’t appear much and we checked to order some ice cream but that wasn’t possible anymore in march. Right now the site still states that it’s not possible to order any ice cream and receive a Reddie Freddie with that order. So we think that is is for this giveaway and continued our search to get a red freddie. We didn’t know what was coming up and we would get a second change.
Reddie Freddie MailChimp giveaway.
The 2nd time we came across Reddie Freddie was June 2015, this time the well known Reply all campaign in combination with MailChimp. Our Freddie took the stage like a pro and became a true hit!
Packaged in the little carton box with the colored diamond design. A sticker on the side with the famous red face and a card that came with the box. And the surprise we got here: a pepperoni smell if you would scratch the sticker. And that worked nicely.
In the first creation there were 1500 pieces. We don’t know if they all where handed out trough the ice cream campaign but we can imagine that was just to much so expect that the replyall give away used the same batch. Meaning that we estimate the total amount of Reddie Freddie is 1500 pieces.
Packing of the toy
We don’t know how the packing was done with the first giveaway. It might be a test run for the diamond boxes but we don’t know. The reply all giveaway used the diamond designed box and included the sticker of Freddie with a pepperoni smell.
